Rolls and Rolls

I just love this little guy’s expression in the first image, but even more, check out those rolls! I love the 6-monthers, they are a blast to have in the studio.

Doesn’t he look like a peaceful little guy? You’d never guess that most of the session was spent more like the last image–bright eyed. I got to spend a lot of time getting to know him and his sweet mom and grandmother and I’m so glad we were finally able to convince him to convince him to give us some sleepy poses.

I drove up to Maryland this morning to meet this family for some outdoor portraits. It was a new location for me — beautiful to explore, but the dark shade of mature trees made a challenge to find good portrait light. Luckily everyone were great sports about trekking around the gardens with me. We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful October morning.

It was really fun getting to see these old college classmates again in their new role as parents. Their little guy was full of smiles and good spirits.

This little gal was the sunshine in today’s cloudy day. I have known her for many years, but was excited at the opportunity for our first portrait session. It’s so much fun to see her personality show through in those cute grins.

Pregnancy definitely is flattering on this tiny mom-to-be. I thought she looked like a model in her cozy pink wrap. I love meeting expectant parents and getting to work with them before the baby is born, and I’m really looking forward to seeing them again with their new addition!
