4 Days Old

fis4This sweet little girl is the youngest newborn I’ve had the chance to photograph in the studio, and also one of the easiest to work with.  She was so laid back the whole time and such a beautiful little one.  Her mom and dad are good friends of mine and I was so excited to be able to do a second set of newborn portraits for them (I photographed their little boy a year and a half ago).  Can you believe that this beautiful momma gave birth to her 3rd child just 4 days ago!  Doesn’t she look amazing?

A Little Sunshine for a Cloudy Day

May 26, 2010

ade1ade2ade3

I used to appreciate cloudy days for the freedom of shooting in more wide-open spaces and not having to seek out shade.  But yesterday was a challenge, with the sun playing some peek-a-boo behind the clouds and constantly changing up the lighting.   Luckily, this family was so easy to work with–from their adorable 2 1/2 year old daughter to her wonderful parents and grandmother.   I just love the little one’s spontaneous pose in the first one.   I will share more images of her after the holiday weekend.   She is such a cute little model, I asked her mom to borrow her again for a few more!

Shepherd Mix

May 24, 2010

My friends just adopted a new pup, and today she came over for a puppy playdate.   She has such a sweet demeanor and the softest fur!  And even though she’s just 12 weeks, she is already almost at big as my 12-year-old border collie mix!  I couldn’t resist snapping a few pics of her cute self.

These little cuties are definitely a handful.   But when they turn on the charm, they have the most adorable smiles.   And I just love the baby curls!

Senior Portraits

May 18, 2010

I don’t market to high schools, so it’s rare that I get a request for senior portraits.  But when this beautiful girls’ mom contacted me and asked for some last minute senior portraits, I told her I would be happy to give it a try.  She was such a trooper, enduring my tricks and jokes that are usually intended for much younger children.  But we did manage to get the ipod dock rocking some country for her and hopefully she had a little fun, too.

First Communion

This little beauty came in for some portraits in her first communion dress.   It was my first chance doing this type of portraits, and I really like working with girls this age–they are so sweet.

Doesn’t she have a gorgeous head of hair?   And her little brother with the adorable curls.   We lucked out with a gorgeous and warm morning for our session, and fortunately the storms held out till the evening.

10 Years Later

I was honored that these repeat clients of mine asked me to help commemorate their 10th wedding anniversary with a family photo session at the botanical gardens.  The weather was just perfect, and the gardens provided a beautiful backdrop.   I can’t believe how much the little one has grown so much since our session last fall.

Puppy Love

May 5, 2010

lucy1lucy2

Well she’s a lot of work, but what fun is having puppy if you don’t get cute photos, LOL.   My little one is now 6 months old, and slowing learning the ropes.  She’s pretty good at “sit” and “fetch” but she’s a little Houdini and can escape from any collar or fenced area.   Here are some shots I managed to grab in the yard–first is with the promise of a treat, and the second is her wannabe frisbee-dog pose.   She’s up to 10 lbs (we got her at 9) and looks like she’s probably soon done growing.
