This little guy is the son of my daughter’s Godparents, and I was excited to be able to do his first portraits. His parents were college friends of my husband and I from our William and Mary days, so of course we had to include some W&M in the portraits. He even shares a birthday with the College. But when it comes to football, his dad is a big Hokie fan, and the little guys was happy to hang out with his Virginia Tech goodies as well.

This little one-year-old had the cutest smile–love all those teeth! In true one-year-old fashion, she started out strong during the shoot and then slowly realized that there was some paparazzi trying to photograph her playtime. At that point she was onto us like a celebrity avoiding the tabloids, and tried every trick to avoid the camera. But despite her best efforts, the camera prevailed and we captured some of the real smiles, teeth and all : )

This little guy was one of my favorite newborns last fall, in fact I have a sample with him and his adorable elf hat hanging in the studio. The image below is from his newborn shoot, look how much he’s grown since then!

This beautiful mother is expecting her 4th child and wanted to take a moment from her busy life to capture this time before her new little one arrives later this month. I look forward to meeting her baby girl at our newborn session!

I was scheduled to do a newborn shoot for this little guy last year, but he arrived right before the big snowstorms and we weren’t able to get him in for portraits. Then after a few attempts to schedule in the past year his parents decided to go ahead with 1 year portraits. So after a year I finally got to meet him! He was a big fan of my wooden blocks and would much rather play than smile for portraits, but who wouldn’t at that age ; )
