I’ve been so busy with sessions since I have been back from vacation that I didn’t get a chance to post a few pics from the trip. Here are a few of my favorites. The first is on the beach in Cabo San Lucas, and taken with my pocket camera. The second is on deck on the Disney Wonder. And the last set are from our day at Disneyland. The girls are sporting dresses from our favorite vacationwear designer: Ollie Girl!

The girls had great fun playing the part of Fancy Nancy in these storybook-inspired dresses by Ollie Girl!. They love the stories about Nancy who loves to play dress up and use big “fancy” words. The dresses are just perfectly whimsical and made of cotton so they aren’t itchy, which is important to my little dress-up girls.

How could I forget to share my own cuties in their Halloween costumes?! We had Dorothy, wearing a gorgeous dress from Boutique Ollie Girl. She had her own real-life Toto to go along with her (our Affenpoo puppy, Lucy).
And Miss V. was transformed into Rapunzel, the long-haired maiden soon-to-be featured in the new Disney movie, Tangled. Since Disney’s wigs were all yellow-blonde, we improvised on the hair with some real hair extensions I found at the beauty supply store so we could have a brunette Rapunzel ; )

I’m excited to announce a new collaboration with the accessory designer Kara of Just Simply Dainty. She is local here in Northern Virginia and asked if I would be willing to photograph some of her hair flowers for her website and advertisements. You’ll probably be seeing them on some of my clients in the next few months, and here are a few previews of what you’ll soon be able to see on her website.

We have had a streak of lovely weather here, so the girls and I were able to get some modeling sessions done and enjoy being outside. These adorable sister sets are by Kathryn Rose Designs. You can find her store on Etsy.

When I woke up yesterday the ground was soaked from days of rain and the sky was filled with gloomy, dark clouds. So things were not looking up for our afternoon session in the park. But I think in the end the session was meant to be, because by the afternoon the clouds cleared and the sun started to dry up the ground. We had first spoken last fall about this Celebrating Adoption session, so I was happy to finally meet the family and so glad that we ended up with perfect weather.

I’m excited to share the launch of a great collaboration between pattern maker Carla Crim and the fabric designer Jennifer Paganelli. We were honored to be brought in on the project to photograph various versions of the new Sophie Tunic, and my little models are featured in the new ebook pattern, which is available through YouCanMakeThis.com. It’s been so much fun working with these talented ladies!

It’s been unseasonably hot here– 90 degrees in April! So what better way to beat the heat than a daytrip to the beach. We took some photos of some cute vacation attire by Painted Butterfly Studio, and also some for an exciting new project with fabric designer Jennifer Paganelli that I will share a bit later.

We received these beautiful mermaid dresses from Painted Butterfly Studio with matching bows from Bow a’la Mode and I just knew they had to be modeled at the beach. Of course, we don’t live terribly close to the beach, so it was a little excursion for us. The location is Chesapeake Beach, on the Maryland’s western shore of the Chesapeake Bay. It’s only about an hour drive from Vienna. It was much too cold for the water, but the girls had fun running barefoot on the beach and playing in the sand.
