The girls had great fun playing the part of Fancy Nancy in these storybook-inspired dresses by Ollie Girl!. They love the stories about Nancy who loves to play dress up and use big “fancy” words. The dresses are just perfectly whimsical and made of cotton so they aren’t itchy, which is important to my little dress-up girls.

This tiny princess-in-training was the perfect little model for my new pink crown hat. I admitted to the parents that I have a little bit of a newborn hat addiction, and I love having the excuse to buy them for my sessions. This was a fun session to come back to after my vacation–mom and dad were such great sports and their little gal was such a little cutie, with the most adorable snorts *wink*.

In honor of my youngest’s birthday today, I grabbed the girls for some portraits in the studio. The adorable birthday tutu set was a find a our local town fair last weekend. The gals who sell them also have a website that’s totally worth checking out if you’re in the market for well-made tutus or bling tees: Glitterbug Ballerina. And while I was focused on getting pictures of the birthday girl, my older daughter grabbed one of my studio pettis, and my studio-mate’s blue chair, and came up with her own pose. I love the pastel combo she came up with!

It’s been unseasonably hot here– 90 degrees in April! So what better way to beat the heat than a daytrip to the beach. We took some photos of some cute vacation attire by Painted Butterfly Studio, and also some for an exciting new project with fabric designer Jennifer Paganelli that I will share a bit later.
