Puddlejumper!

June 29, 2007

I just love puddle jumping photos, and I’ve been really looking forward to trying them for quite some time. So yesterday when it rained, we got A. all decked out in her raingear and ready to play in the rain. Unfortunately, as is often the case with tempermental summer storms, the rain stopped before she even got outside. So we tried to make some fun with the tiny puddles we found. It didn’t seem to bother her too much that there wasn’t much splash. I love making storyboards, and hope to add this as a service for my clients. I think this would make a great inspirational poster, hehe 🙂 If you click on the photo you’ll see the full-sized version.

He’s bald, but not a baby ;)

June 26, 2007

It’s really interesting that I’m posting my second bird “portrait”, because it’s not that I am really into bird photography, it’s just that I have happened to run across my second large bird with personality in a few weeks, and wanted to share. I was just so struck by this guy and his buddies, I had to snap some photos. Just the sight of these guys struck a patriotic vein.

A New Camera and a Trip to the Farm

June 23, 2007

I’m so excited–last week I bought myself a new camera. I totally fell into the hands of the Nikon marketing geniuses, and bought it because of a rebate. I had intended to just buy a tiny point and shoot for my husband for Father’s Day, and found out that I could save $50 if I bought that camera AND a new DSLR. Well that was all the impetus I needed to go ahead and buy the D200 I had been wanting. So it was one of those cases where I spent $2000 to save $50. Oh well, probably not the best reasoning, but I really love the new camera and I’m excited about being able to provide my clients with even better quality photos and to be able to offer bigger enlargements.

Here are a few of my first photos with the new camera. It will take a while to get used to it, since the camera has so many more features and flexibility than my old one.

Yesterday while A was at camp, little V and I visited a farm and took a few photos of an adorable set she was modeling for Kathryn Rose Design. She had a blast “modeling with the animals”.

A Day at the Beach

June 13, 2007

Yesterday we spent the day at the beach, and now I feel like summer has officially started. We had some beach outfits to photograph, and we decided to make a day of it. The girls had a blast playing in the sand, and I enjoyed watching them be in such good spirits all day and snapping photos from my blanket.

We had a little adventure in the middle of the afternoon with rescuing a large horseshoe crab that was trapped in the rocks. We did manage to get our beach modeling photos done, and I even took one for my photography group’s monthly contest. I’ll have to share that after the voting it over 🙂
