Little Guy

December 30, 2009

mur1mur2mur3I have been expecting this little guy since his parents came in for their maternity session a couple months ago.    So when they called and told me that he had been born, I took a hiatus from my vacation this week to fit in their newborn session.   It was so nice to see them again and to meet their new addition!

Happy Holidays!

December 17, 2009

kor4kor3kor1kor2I’m happy to say that most of my holiday orders have been delivered and my wonderful clients can send personalized holiday cards and give the gift of portraits this holiday season.  And in my annual tradition, when I am done with all of my client sessions, I round up my own family for a few portraits of your own.  The family photo is by fellow Vienna photographer Brett Cordeau, and the photos of the girls are by me.   I will be taking the next two weeks to get caught up on all of the things I’ve left slide a little to long (can we say messy house?) and spending time with my family.  So I wish you and yours a happy holiday season, and a wonderful start to the new year!

The Red Bow

December 15, 2009

I’ve been lucky enough to work with these clients for three years in a row, and for fun I pulled a few images from past years to show how she’s grown.  It wasn’t until I lined them up that I realized she wore a cute red bow each year!   This morning I got to hang out with her and her little brother in the studio for their annual holiday photoshoot.

Early Christmas Gift

I wanted to try a little before and after with this sweet mom and her little guy–from belly to baby.   I love decking the newborns out for the holidays–“santa baby”.

Growing Up

December 13, 2009

These are one of my favorite families to work with–I’ve had the chance to do their holiday portrait three years in a row now and see the kids as they grow.  I dug up some from the past years to compare how the kids have grown.  Aren’t they the cutest?!

Big Brother x 2

December 8, 2009

mro1mro3mro2These big brothers were so excited about their new baby brother.    At one week old he was such a tiny little guy, but I think when he gets older he’ll be trying hard to keep up with his brothers.

Holiday Spirit

December 7, 2009

sch1eas1Sharing a few more images from my digi-minis this weekend.   The snow on the ground here really helps with getting in the holiday spirit.   I’ve got the smell of my fresh Christmas tree in the air here at my home office as I listen to my good friend Amanda playing Christmas music on WGTS 91.9 and I work on designing holiday cards for clients and ordering their portrait gifts.

Digi-Minis, Day 1

December 6, 2009

minispreview

You may remember seeing these families on the blog from their full sessions earlier in the year.  It’s so fun to see how much the little ones have changed in just a few months.

These were my first digi-minis (mini-sessions for repeat clients where we shoot the session, select their favorite image(s) and burn a disk for them to take home and use for holiday cards and gifts…all in the one hour session).   It’s like having the instant gratification of mall studios without the crowds!  This year I opened up two days for the digi-minis, and they will continue this weekend.

Visions of NYC

December 3, 2009

ladyliberty2My older daughter’s birthday is right around the corner, and for her birthday I promised her a trip to New York to pick out her first full-size American Girl doll at the American Girl Place.   What a fun adventure seeing Lady Liberty from the Staten Island ferry, riding the Subway, and walking through the streets of Manhattan.   I had my trusty point and shoot pocket camera with me so all of these images, except the statue at night, were taken the Canon S90.
