Red Noses, Black Eyes and Cute Kids

October 29, 2010

I’ve been talking with this family about their shoot since before their youngest was born, and I was excited to work with them this morning.  They won a silent auction through my daughters’ old preschool for a session and portrait package that I donated.   We ended up with a sunny fall morning, but the wind and chilly temperatures made for some little red noses ; )    Don’t I wish we could have yesterday’s warm temps back!   But the weather didn’t stop us from catching some great moments with this gorgeously coordinated bunch.

Brothers in Blue

I love when my clients have beautiful yards to do our portrait sessions.   These little guys had a lovely tree-lined drive right next to their house that looked gorgeous covered in leaves and pine needles.    Big brother was full of ideas for the photos, and we had fun playing around the yard.   Such an expressive kid!

Three Years Later

It’s been three years since I last photographed this little girl–she was just a baby when I first took her outside on a fall day for portraits.  Now her family was back with a new addition.  We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful location with all the fall leaves in full color.

Well Matched

It’s not often I get an extended family shoot with such a well balanced family.    In this case, the two sisters both brought their husbands, older sons and younger daughters.  It was fun seeing how the cousins enjoyed playing outside while we were taking photos of different family combinations.

Little Red Sweater

I couldn’t believe how cute this little guy was.  He was a pint-sized 6-month-old, but already sitting on his own and trying to stand and crawl.    This is such a great age for portraits, and although I would have loved to meet his big brother, it was nice to be able to have a whole session to dedicate to little brother.

Fall Color

I booked this session last summer, and we were hoping at the time that we’d luck out and get some fall leaves in the photos.  Luckily we planned perfectly and ended up with a beautiful fall day.   See how much they’ve grown since their session last year:

Family Day on the Farm

mal3I was excited to have this family back for their annual family portraits.  We weren’t sure about the weather and waited until the very last minute to decide if we were going ahead with it.  Luckily we decided to give it a try, and the rain held out until I pulled out of the parking lot.  Perfect timing!   Here’s a quick look back at them from last year–it’s so fun to see these kids grow up : )mal1

This is the 4th year in a row I’ve had the chance to work with this family for their portraits.  You may remember this little guy on the tire swing from last year’s session.   This year we tried another new location and lucked out with a gorgeous morning.  Here’s a look back at how he’s grown ; )

Busy Day

October 16, 2010

After picking out pumpkins and cheering for my little soccer players in two games this afternoon, I headed over to meet this family for their fall photoshoot.   We had a great time, and the little guy even met a new friend (another little toddler) in the park who kept asking him to play ball.

And Bilbo, too

Bilbo is the family dog… can you spot him?   I just love this family photo… it’s just screams “put me on your holiday cards” to me.   I enjoyed spending the morning with this fun family.  It was my third session with them… I met them last year at their Celebrating Adoption session and now they are back with their new baby girl.
