This sweet little girl made the cutest little elf, and it was fun doing the session at her house where we could use some of her own things as props, like that gorgeous grey and yellow chair.

I can’t remember how many times we had to reschedule this session for one reason or another, but finally it worked out and we got the most temperate December weather. This was our third annual shoot together and it has been fun to see their family grow.

So while I am waiting for my new studio space to be completed I am continuing my tour of clients’ homes for newborn sessions. This little newborn belongs to some long-time clients of mine, and we thought it would be fun to try to include their dogs in some of the portraits as well, since they were hanging out with us.

After two super-chilly sessions this week it was refreshing to have a warmer day for a session today. We even managed to find the last vestiges of the season to get some leaves and fall color in their portraits. I just love their well-coordinated outfits and that adorable candy-striped headband.

The chilly weather made for probably the quickest session I’ve done all season, but I was happy to find that one magical photo when I downloaded the images to my computer: the moment when all 3 boys were looking and smiling in their family photo. Since our session last November they have grown into adorable little guys with their own unique personalities.

So I have to admit, I’ve had the worst luck with temperatures and sessions this season. Yesterday when the kids were walking around without jackets I didn’t have anything on the books, and then today when it was a good 20 degrees cooler, I was scheduled to meet with these long-time clients of mine. But despite the brisk air, we managed to get a full session in, and even have a little fun enjoying the last of the leaves before they get swept up.

Some days everything just falls in place and today was one of them–a beautiful setting, temperate November weather, well-dressed family, smiley kids, and wonderful parents.

Not too long ago I did newborn portraits for big sis, and now I got to do a new round of newborn portraits for her new baby sister. I’m still waiting for my new studio space to be finished so I’m glad they allowed me to set up the mini-studio right in their living room to photograph their new addition.

What fun we had exploring the woods and creek with this incredibly photogenic and impeccably dressed family. It was a little chilly, but the sunny morning worked out great for our session.

I have been really enjoying the fall color this year at my photoshoots. This family was wearing a beautiful shade of red, so we sought out some red leaves. It was so nice to see these girls again and see them growing up, and I just love mom’s impeccable taste in coordinating outfits.
