This family visited me last year with Mom’s parents, and this year they were back for a session with the other set of grandparents who were visiting from Europe. This little girl was so sweet and comfortable in front of the camera, and her mom and dad had the right idea, bringing some of her own toys to use as props. This little teddy bear was adorable!

I believe this little preemie is the tiniest newborn I’ve had the chance to work with in the many years I have photographing babies. She was born as a surprise early birthday present to mom, and what better gift than to have this little peanut come home with you? It was fun to get to try some new poses with her that don’t work as well with bigger, less scrunchy babies. She and her parents were such good sports for the whole session, even agreeing to pop in some photos themselves when they weren’t initially planning on it.

What great luck that I happened to have an opening and I got a call yesterday looking for a newborn session for their 4-week-old sweetie. She is still a tiny little newborn and her mom came prepared with a lot of fun ideas for the session.

It was great to see this family again for a second round of newborn portraits. I worked with them when their son was born and they had brought along an adorable owl hat. This time around they brought a new owl hat for their new baby girl. She was such a chill little girl that I was able to get a variety of different poses while she was both asleep and awake. I just had to include this family picture in my preview–isn’t it cute how it looks like she was waving?
