Falling Leaves and Climbing Trees

October 15, 2016

We lucked out with some beautiful fall weather for our session last week.  Aren’t they a seriously well-dressed bunch?  I enjoyed seeing how much these little guys have grown up since I last photographed them.  After playing a little in the leaves, we had to seek out some climbing trees for the boys.

Run of the Mill

What a beautiful morning we had over at the historic mill, exploring the park and all it had to offer for our portrait backdrop.  I’ve had the opportunity to photograph these adorable kids several times before, but this was the first time we included their charming pup as well.

It’s sessions like this that make me think I have the best job ever.  I have been photographing this little girl for years and it’s so much fun to see her growing up.  She had a lot of fun helping me come up with ideas for photos and was a joy to work with such a cooperative subject.

Planes, Trains and Automobiles

July 18, 2016

We had originally talked about an outdoor session, but with the muggy July weather studio time ended up being a wise choice.  I first met this family several years ago when I did their daughter’s newborn portraits, and I saw her again more recently when I did her preschool photos.  This time, she was back with her one-year-old brother who was having so much fun playing with the trains, planes, and a trike that we brought out in an attempt to get him to stand still long enough to pose for some photos.

Wide-Eyed Baby Boy

I had the cutest little newborn baby boy and his charming big sister in the studio this week.  It was a great way to kick off the new year after taking an extended holiday break.  Here’s a quick look back at big sister when she was his age (with the same monkey!)

Late Fall in the Park

November 16, 2015

I had the chance to photograph both of these little ones when they were newborns, and just last month I ran across this cute little girl again while taking portraits at a local preschool.   Her mom contacted me to update their family portraits and I can’t believe our luck with the late November weather.  It was unseasonably warm and sunny this morning, making it a perfect day to go explore in the woods.

I got to spend some time with one of my favorite portrait families this morning–what a great way to start off a busy week.  I loved the new location they suggested, and the rain held out just long enough for us to get in our session.

It was another beautiful November day, and I got to spend some time photographing a college friend and her family.  Her girls so adorable in their matching dresses and have become quite the pros at modeling for photos.

A warm day in November

We had the opposite problem from my usual November sessions last week: it was unseasonably warm!  These little cuties were troopers and despite being a little too warm in their long sleeves, enjoyed running around and exploring.  They play so well together and mom was a good sport, joining in with some impromptu hide-and-seek.

It Started with a Matilda Jane

One of my best-dressed families were back for another year of fall portraits.  We made our session about having fun: tossing leaves on mom and dad, letting the kids hang upside down, pretending to tell secrets, all while trying our best to avoid the occasional quicksand-like mud.  There was still plenty of fall color around, and we lucked out with warm temperatures.
