Hoo #2

February 2, 2013

It was great to see this family again for a second round of newborn portraits.  I worked with them when their son was born and they had brought along an adorable owl hat.  This time around they brought a new owl hat for their new baby girl.  She was such a chill little girl that I was able to get a variety of different poses while she was both asleep and awake.   I just had to include this family picture in my preview–isn’t it cute how it looks like she was waving?

Back with Two More

November 27, 2012

I worked with this family to do baby portraits when their older son was just a couple of months old, and today they were back with their twin boys.  It was a bit of a challenge to get all three boys together, but they were such an adorable bunch when we did.  Mom had them impeccably dressed, down to the adorable suspenders under the twins’ sweaters.   The family shot above was a spontaneous idea, but I just love her it turned out–it’s so telling of life with a toddler and twin newborns.

You’d better not pout…

These were some hard-earned shots with this adorable little 6-day-old.   But as you can see our hard work paid off and we managed to get him some adorable portraits with and without big brother.

Sisterly Love

November 13, 2012

I just love the expressions of the sisters on the carriage photo–isn’t it telling of a sisters’ relationship?  These girls were so adorable and just perfect little subjects at the studio this morning.  Little sis was so interested in the session she didn’t want to close her eyes, but eventually the weight of her 2-week-old eyes was too much for even her to resist.

Just One of the Toys

November 9, 2012

What a fun newborn session this was with these repeat clients and their growing family.   This little guy seemed to really enjoy chilling out with with stuffed animals.  And his big brother was a great sport about joining in for some of the photos.

Officer-in-training

October 17, 2012

This little one-month-old was such a trooper.  We were worried that he may not sleep as well as a younger newborn, but we were lucky to get a great mix of sleepy newborn shots and wide-eyes.   He even smiled at mom for a few photos, which was really surprising for such a young little guy.    We had a lot of fun with the hats that they brought along to the session.  How cute is that little police hat?

Tiniest Pumpkin

October 2, 2012

This sweet little girls was pretty convinced that she wanted to be awake for her first photoshoot this afternoon.  Catching a wide-eyed photo of a newborn less than a week old is a rare treat, though, and she was happy to show us her baby blues.

Number Three

September 22, 2012

What more pleasant way could there be for a photographer to end off the week than with a newborn in the studio?   This sweet little one-week-old was enjoying some quality time with her parents while her big brother and sister were at school.   She was such great little model for us, either observing us calmly or sleeping peacefully through most of the session.

Like Two Bugs in a Rug

August 7, 2012

It was so cute how this sweet big sister was very excited to have her picture taken with her new baby sister.  Especially when you consider that the last time I met her for a photoshoot she wasn’t nearly as enthusiastic ; )  Fortunately today she was feeling super smiley and helpful and ended up taking a bunch of great photos with her doll of a little sis, who stayed cautiously awake for most of the session.

Littlest Fan

I can’t believe that this sweet little West Virginia cheerleader who I photographed as a newborn was back in the studio this week as a big sister!  It is so fun to see my clients growing up and to get to meet their new family members.
