So what do you do when big brother isn’t interested in laying down with his baby brother for a picture? You let him “drop in” ; ) It was so nice to see this family again so soon. We got together a few weeks ago for their maternity session and today they were a family of 4.

It’s been a busy week for maternity sessions, which is exciting because is means that I have a lot of newborns to look forward to in the next couple of months! This adorable little girl is looking forward to meeting her little brother, and enjoying using mom’s belly as her canvas this morning.

It wasn’t too long ago that I was doing maternity shots for this little guy in his mom’s belly, and now he’s back at big brother to get ready for his new baby brother. He enjoyed helping me set up the studio this morning and loved exploring the props. I can’t wait to see him and his growing family again in a few weeks for their newborn session!

I just had to include this silly version of their family photo, since I think it exemplifies big sister’s personality. The sweet and energetic 2-year-old was the typical adorable toddler. Busy, busy, and no time to stop for photos. But with much patience, singing and silliness we did manage to get her to play along with the photoshoot. Aren’t she and her baby sister just gorgeous with that dark hair?

This sweet little girl and her parents were just a joy to work with this morning. She was happy to sleep through almost all of the session, and was still such a fresh newborn that she was easy to pose.

This family came as a referral from a dear friend and past client, so I was excited to meet both the parents and the tiny twins. The little ones were very cooperative, and I’m afraid I had a hard time even narrowing down their previews because there were so many sweet images. I thought I would share some of their cute expressions. Aren’t they tiny little packages of personality?

This family was back this morning for their second newborn session. Their first one was 2 1/2 years ago with their son, and now this time they brought their new baby girl. It was all pink, purple and fluff this time around. I love how they came armed with an arsenal of Etsy goodies. The well-adorned little sweetie was having a hard time wanting to sleep during the session, and I’m sure they will be happily surprised to see that we did manage to get some sleepy pictures of her, and we did get her busy big brother to sit still long enough for a couple of good photos as well.

It’s hard to believe there is a big storm in the forecast for tomorrow, when today was sunny and relatively warm. This morning I spent a few hours with this sweet little girl and her parents. She was eager to participate in our session and not very keen on the idea of sleeping through it. Eventually we did manage to convince her to rest a little in my cozy beanbag.

I believe this little preemie is the tiniest newborn I’ve had the chance to work with in the many years I have photographing babies. She was born as a surprise early birthday present to mom, and what better gift than to have this little peanut come home with you? It was fun to get to try some new poses with her that don’t work as well with bigger, less scrunchy babies. She and her parents were such good sports for the whole session, even agreeing to pop in some photos themselves when they weren’t initially planning on it.

What great luck that I happened to have an opening and I got a call yesterday looking for a newborn session for their 4-week-old sweetie. She is still a tiny little newborn and her mom came prepared with a lot of fun ideas for the session.
